Strategic Human Resource Management

“Strategic HRM focuses more on strategic issues, than operational issues. It involves making the function of managing people the most important priority in the organisation and integrating all HR programs and policies with the framework of company’s strategy” (Mellow, 2016,p.150)

HR strategies are generally integrated vertically with the business strategy and horizontally with one another. The HR strategies developed by a strategic HRM approach are essential components of an organization's business strategy.By combining the HRM functions with overall business strategy, SHRM reflects a more flexible arrangement and utilization of human resources to achieve the organizational goals.
