HRM is concerned with "Managing people in organisations as effectively as possible for the good of employees, the company, and society" (Schuler, 2012).In light of the above statement visit a company in Oman in the private/government sector and write a report (2500 words) covering the following points:

1)  Significance of HRM in today's dynamic business environment,

2) A critical discussion on current HRM functions in the chosen company highlighting the strengths

and weaknesses of these functions.

3) Suggestions/recommendations for improvement based on the analysis of the functions in the chosen

organisation.

Marking Criteria for the report is as follows:

Presentation Clear introduction, logical structure, reference to appropriate theoretical background, illustrations, good use of the limited number of words allowed, clear layout, overall organisation of the report. Adequate use of references linked to a bibliography, relevance of sources used. (20%)	The report is unorganized to the point of being virtually unreadable. Lacks cohesion and orderly flow. The assignment has unacceptable failings in structuring and/or clarity of written expression. The report is difficult to  read due to overwhelming errors or misspellings. The report references clearly do not comply with the basic requirements of HARVARD STYLE format.  The references are not adequate to support the literature used in the report	The report is unorganized, but can be read. Poor flow of the report structure. The assignment has failings in  structuring and/or clarity of written expression, which impair its capacity to communicate Frequent compositional errors or misspellings, but the report can be read The report shows some compliance to HARVARD STYLE referencing, but shows many errors. Analysis of the case Critical evaluation and appropriate and link to the assignment topic, referencing of sources used. (40%)	No analysis has been done  to discuss the topics. The points mentioned in the case are not discussed	Examples and evidence are likely to be weak and limited. Limited focus on the  mentioned points  in the case	Arguments and analysis are basically well structured and balanced with relevant examples, but with errors and gaps. All the points in the case are answered to some extent	Relevant and supporting evidence are well presented and properly linked to the topics under discussions	Excellent demonstration of the given topics with appropriate examples cited with proper references.
Conclusion Logical progression from findings to conclusions drawn together with a clear explanation and justification based on the analysis (15%)	No coherence and orderly conclusion	Though discussion of the ideas is clear, a coherent flow of thought is not evident.
